The Power Of The Poetry

Belonging

I think I just needed someone that night, and I guess so did she,
Sharing our loneliness, and our love of the power of the poetry.
Out of the blue someone I knew from the past, though not really at all,
Chose to dance with me, slowly and  lovingly, at the Jamberoo Deb Ball.

We danced on the page, merging our hearts, each taking turn to lead,
‘A Rose Grew in My Garden’ was born, as we sensed each other’s need.
Then we danced the dance of love that night, and it seemed to set me free,
I’d come with anger in my heart, but felt peace in the power of the poetry.
