Belonging

Belonging

We belong together, as though fate has deemed it thus,
You are you, I am me, but together we are us.
I’m a better person for you, my growth owes you so much,
And I believe I’m good for you, you are better for my touch.

Individually we are fine; together we are great.
So it seems that belonging was ever our chosen fate.
Your hand in mine, mine in yours, comfort so befitting
A love that will last forever, a love that is so uplifting.

Everyone needs to belong, to have a sense of place.
Some find it in groups of people, others just in space.
But I have found my sense of belonging in a simple sum,
Two into two goes perfectly to equal a beautiful one.
